One And Another

Food Waste:

The UK throws away three times more food in a year than the entire volume of global food aid. (- 20m tonnes to be precise, a third of it directly from household waste).

This averages out at about £610 a year per family. And every tonne of it generates 4.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Cutting it out entirely would be equivalent to taking 1 in 5 cars off Britain’s roads.

Earth Hour:

Earth Hour is the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

The target is 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.
