The Lost Art Of Stating The Obvious

Marks & Spencer has cut prices on its cheapest women's clothing range by up to 25%, in a move designed to put pressure on rivals such as Next.

"We have been making double-digit reductions of opening price points where we feel we need to in order to be competitive," an M&S spokeswoman said.

Brokers Seymour Pierce said M&S would have to sell more to compensate for the lower prices.
